One way to learn more about each database's advantages and disadvantages is to peruse the databases 'by subjects'. From the library homepage click "Databases by Subject." In addition to reading the descriptions that accompany the link to each database, do some searching and explore databases in order to get familiar with each one's contents and search features.
That is, enter the same search into two or more different databases and compare:
- the search limiters
- the number of results
- the types of results (e.g. full-text eJournal vs. not-full-text eJournal, eBooks vs. eJournals, etc.)
If you need more help, provide us with your topic, from general to specific, and schedule a one-on-one session with the librarian. We could use Microsoft TEAM or this LibCHAT to share screens, point out features, compare databases, and answer your questions. For this approach, please complete Online Consultation with a Librarian form.
